Welcome to Reverie Terminal's first CR meme. While the game has not yet officially opened, please use the CR meme to get to know each other and forge some plans. The game will open on May 1st with an intro log for everyone which — spoilers! — will allow for mingling, exploration, getting to know one another, and have a bit of horror sprinkled on top. Just a bit.

» Canonpoint: Granite State/Felina-ish (5x15) - Jesse has been imprisoned by his kidnappers for several months by the point he winds up in Reverie.
» Fact Cheat Sheet: Burnout scumbag junkie who teams up with his old high school chemistry teacher, Walter White to cook meth. Jesse is the kind of human tragedy where he had immense potential to be an incredibly lovely, nurturing, altruistic person. His parents, however, viewed his strengths - artistic, deeply emotional, sensitive, affectionate, free spirited - as bad, time-wasting flaws, and over time he grew more and resigned to knowing he would forever be a disappointment to them no matter how hard he tried to meet their exceedingly high expectations and be the kind of son they would have preferred him to be. This led him onto a path of drugs, which led him into drug dealing, which eventually led him to Walter White. Or rather, led Walter White to him. Jesse is the kind of person who was never meant for the criminal lifestyle, but has learned to adapt, while deep down wishing he was anything but the person he turned out to be. By the time he enters Reverie, Jesse is a PTSD-infested, empty shell of a man who has been held captive for several months as a slave, and his whole sense of self has been utterly destroyed by Walter White.
» Permissons/opt outs? PERMISSIONS. Please take a moment to read through it, as Jesse's canon deals with some very unpleasant and very triggering subject matter.
» Declare your (CR) intentions: The thing Jesse values above all else is freedom - freedom to do what he wants, when he wants, and freedom to not be restrained by authority or captivity. One of his biggest traits is that he is a leader who thinks he's a follower, and being very traumatised and now at a point where he absolutely will never let another person hurt him ever again, Jesse's approach to things such as freedom is going to be ruthless and calculating. If a black market is established in game, I would love for Jesse to be involved! I'm very keen to explore Jesse's fractured mental state and how he will have to find ways to adapt in order to survive on the ship. I'm keen for Jesse to have allies, keen for him to have people who want to protect him, people who befriend him, people for Jesse to manipulate and take under his wing. I'm open to the possibility of casual relationships/shipping, though Jesse is so broken in the head that it would be pretty messed up/unhealthy relationships. Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad, describes Jesse as "a leader who thinks he's a follower", and so I'd love to explore Jesse eventually obtaining a position of some kind of leadership or authority, be that within some kind of shady underhanded business being run, or within the ranks of the ship's crew itself.
» Fit & goals: Oops guess I've already talked about goals? But the general fit for Jesse is this: The last thing Jesse is equipped for is space. However, at the canon point he'll be brought in, the thing he longs for most is escape, and nothing can be further away from Walter White, the white supremacists keeping him hostage as a meth slave, and the meth business, than space. His goals will turn to the fact that nobody on the ship is free, that everyone is technically a prisoner, and so he will want to find ways to establish freedom in whatever possible capacity, through means such as a black market. He will seek to want to protect kids and innocent people, as well, but will also seek to want to subvert any authority keeping him and everybody else captive on the ship. OF COURSE, THIS ALL DEPENDS on how the game unfolds, so these goals of mine may change according to the direction the game takes!
» Housing plans: Jesse would want a single room, but I'd be down for him having to share.
» TDM link: Jesse's top-level, however I'm likely going to repurpose those starters into a log when the game starts.

I think at least some of this was covered when I reached out to you at QP? But just in case, I’ll just reiterate a bit, haha

So Venus is a kind person at heart - like, a really kind one! I’m sure she’d warm up to Jesse quickly, and she’d honestly want to keep him safe after everything he’s had to deal with. But the slightly more important part is that Venus is the devil, in a very real and very literal sense, and personal freedom means a huge amount to her as well. She’s a lot less “manipulate your way up the ladder” and a lot more “fuck the police, dye your hair, get a tattoo” - but there’s still some interesting room for potential CR!

gOD I WAS SO SLEEPY WHILE TYPING OUT MY CR MEME RESPONSE that I repeated myself like a rambling moron. Facepalm. Lmao.

But aaaAAHHH. Yeah, Jesse isn't the "manipulate your way up the ladder" type either, so much as "I am taking charge here because shit needs to get done and I am done with everyone's bullshit, and I am also done with people keeping me prisoner". He's one of those people who seems to loiter in the background, waiting for instructions to follow, until he pipes up with a sudden smart idea. He's also extremely damaged and traumatised and sees zero point in having an ego about anything anymore, so the way he would take charge is very matter-of-fact and "don't bullshit me", while being indifferent to the feelings of others. Unless he deeply cares about them, or their kids - but even then, if he's made his mind up about something, he will go ahead and do it regardless.

AND INTERESTINGLY, Jesse sees Walter White as the devil. Nobody is more evil than Mr. White. So, Venus calling herself a devil while also being kind - Jesse would be like, "Nah, no way, yo, I've worked with the devil, ain't no way you're even close to being the devil". SO THIS sounds like it has potential to be super interesting cr!!!

OH MAN. That's probably something the station could use, honestly? Because most of the people here are. Not the greatest at having smart ideas, Venus included. orz

And that is interesting - not often you have a direct association like that! I think Venus would 1) probably take it as a compliment from Jesse, and 2) point out that maybe humans can be a bit shittier than people realize, and maybe the devil doesn't have to be so bad!

Jesus, the idea of CR between these two seems fun.

Lucas is not nice in the remotest - he's a serial murderer who enjoys using his engineering intelligence to find creative ways of harming and terrifying people because he thinks it's funny in canon - but he's also a twenty-something scrub who values his freedom and having the ability to do whatever the heck he wants highly, and is implied in a post-canon bonus scenario to have had black market dealings alongside going behind marriage-of-convenience allies' backs as an infobroker. He anywhere from hates to only superficially acknowledges authority, but I could see him having CR with Jesse of some stripe, at least down the line!
