» Canon: The Fall
» Canonpoint: Halfway through the second game in the series
» Fact Cheat Sheet: Arid is a combat AI originally written as part of a combat suit meant to be worn by a human pilot. Her job is to control the combat suit and bring her pilot to safety if he’s ever injured to the point where he can’t move/protect himself. Arid’s world is full of AI who carry out other specialized functions, from household chores to sexual companionship. Each kind of AI is bound by a model-specific set of rules that govern both their behavior and their outlook on the world. Due to spoilery events, Arid has become extremely deviant and done terrible things to both AI and humans alike. At the moment, she only has one rule: “redeem myself.”

Even with that rule, Arid tends to be quite abrasive and can come off as tactless as best and cruel at worst. She’s also been infected with a virus that amplifies her perception of fear and causes her to have violent panic attacks and hallucinations when she feels her rule is being threatened.

As for powers, she’s very durable, can transmit her consciousness into digital networks, and can turn invisible :|b

If you’re concerned about triggering material and/or don’t care about spoilers for The Fall and The Fall 2: Unbound, please take a moment to read over the content warnings on Arid’s permissions page! Her canon deals with some very heavy stuff and Arid’s pretty much always at the center of it. Please let me know if you’d like to opt out of any particular content or if you’d like to opt out of threading with Arid at all!
» Declare your (CR) intentions: I’m open to all CR: friends, enemies, and anything in between! \o/ Characters who like AI, dislike AI, are curious about AI, or are AI themselves may be especially good fits. That said, Arid has an extremely pessimistic view of humans and other organics, so it may take some extra work to get her to open up if your character has fleshy bits. Also if there are any therapists in the house… help? /o\
» Fit & goals: Given that Arid doesn’t have to worry about food, water, oxygen, or sleep, she’s not too worried about the physical state of Reverie Terminal :|b She is quite paranoid about all the organics on the crew, but she is getting over this to a degree thanks to the respect and courtesy they’ve shown her and her fellow AI. I’m hoping she can make some actual friends and thus have a reason to be more concerned with the state of the station and the survival of her organic compatriots!
» Housing plans: She’s in 3.14 and is currently alone!
» Open links: Not yet, though I will be putting up a top-level for her on the music log! She’ll be mostly unaffected by the noise, though she will be wary of all the irritable organics around her >_>;
