Hello! This is Kiri, who plays Jupiter [personal profile] bringsthestorm, and I decided to bring in a second character, who happens to be Minato Arisato from the series Persona 3. This is my first time playing him, so I'm very excited to try!

He's an interesting guy, because he's not very great with dealing with his emotions after significant amounts of trauma, and has become kind of apathetic to things around him as a result. However, at the same time, he cares immensely for people he's close to, and will do just about anything to protect them and make them happy, even at the cost of his own health and well-being. He's also a bit silly sometimes (though he plays it so straight it's hard to tell) while also being generally aloof, and even though he's empathetic, he doesn't really know how to express that very well besides by being a good listener. He's also surprisingly charismatic despite all this?? Minato you're weird. Don't expect him to talk much about himself or his feelings ever though, feelings and being honest to yourself is for CHUMPS. He likes music (esp hip hop) and to eat a whole lot, so not having his mp3 player and the food being terrible will be a horrific blow. Also he kind of sort of was in the middle of dying before arriving here so that's gonna be interesting to deal with??

Anyways, he's gonna be waking up near the mess hall on deck 2 and i stuck him in room 5.16, so expect him to awkwardly float in your direction sometime soon.

JUNE MOD POST #2: CAPS

Dear Reverie Operators,

It hasn’t been long yet since our last mod announcement, but we’re back already for another one. We just can’t get enough of you!

As you know, the game currently has an overall game cap of 100 characters as well as a cast cap of 10 characters per cast, with entire franchises counting as casts. With the game nearing its overall cap and one cast having hit cast cap, we want to address these caps, explain why they are in place and also put the cast cap to a vote.

The Game Cap
The game cap is in place to ensure that we as mods are capable of handling the game. We hope that as we settle into the game and into modding, we will be able to raise this cap, but for now, the game cap is a necessary safeguard to make sure that we don’t become overwhelmed, which would be detrimental to the game as a whole as well as to us as mods personally.

The game cap is in place to make sure that doesn’t happen and for this reason, we cannot make any promises when or if we’ll raise it or do away with it entirely. This in no way implies that we’re anything but overjoyed with the enthusiastic response to the game or that we wouldn’t love to have even more people in it — it just means we want to be sure that we can (continue to) do the game and its players justice.

The Cast Cap
Currently, Reverie Terminal has a very strict cast cap — ten characters per franchise is not a lot. Our rationale in setting such a tight cap was to ensure that given the (unfortunately necessary) game cap, no single cast would dominate the game. The question we’d like to put before you, our player base, is whether this is even a concern that you have and what preferences you have in this regard.

So please, head over HERE and let us know.

The smallprint: this poll will be open for one (1) week, until Sunday, June 10th at 9pm (UTC). Please only vote once.

The Way Forward (For Now)
We will temporarily queue all incoming applications, pending the outcome of the poll. Once we have the results, we will adjust the cast cap in accordance with them — and of course inform you of the outcome — and process applications accordingly.

As usual, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions, comments or concerns!
