I wasn't really sure what the pinpad would look like I think he would assume it was numbers though, if that's what you're asking. But if it's a full keyboard he would try numbers and letters as well as a combo if he didn't get any movement on the first two. I think he's going to gather a few people and just do as many codes as they can like systematically working through possible combinations.
